Dr Faiz Noore is a Specialist Pain Medicine Physician and adult Psychiatrist who treats patients between 18 and 65. He specialises in the non-procedural treatment of chronic pain, opioid agonist therapy for people who have developed opioid use disorder in the context of chronic pain management, and he also treats people with mood and anxiety disorders.
Dr Noore obtained medicine, psychotherapy and pain management degrees from the University of Sydney. He completed his specialist medical training in Psychiatry and Pain Medicine at Westmead Hospital, Parramatta, St Mary’s Hospital, London and Nepean Hospital, Penrith. Dr Noore has obtained Opioid Treatment Accreditation from the University of Sydney.
Dr Noore is passionate about teaching and has successfully trained doctors who wish to become Psychiatry or Pain Medicine specialists. For several years, Dr Noore has held the position of Supervisor of Supervisors of Training for the Faculty of Pain Medicine. He has also been involved in creating and rolling out the new 2015 curriculum for the training of Pain Specialists in Australia and New Zealand.
Rational Medication Prescribing – Dr Noore works collaboratively with his patients to help them slowly come off opioid medication.
He generally does not promote prescribing of opioid analgesics for patients.
