The aim of Pain Psychology treatment
The aim of Pain Psychology treatment is to minimise the impact of chronic pain condition on patient’s life including home life, work, leisure, family and social life, by decreasing emotional distress and physiological arousal which are resulted from persistent pain.
Utilising various cognitive behavioural strategies to manage pain, it is expected that patients are able to improve their psychological and mental state, improve their daily functioning, and improve overall optimism about their future despite pain.
